Would you like to be a part of our international humanitarian work for children's rights?? We have an exciting vacancy (permanent position) open for a Senior Advisor focusing on our partnership with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA). This is an exciting time to join the team as we are currently in midst of developing a new Strategic Partnership for Humanitarian Assistance with the NMFA. We are looking for a person who can lead our efforts in driving this partnership forward working closely with our Humanitarian Director and Director of International Programmes.

The position sits with the Institutional Partnership Section within the International Program Department. The Institutional Partnership Section is responsible for developing and maintaining Save the Children Norway's (SCN) strategic relations with institutional donors. The section provides support to SCN, other SC members and Save the Children International (SCI).

The Advisor is responsible for coordinating and developing SCN's overall portfolio and partnership with the NMFA. The role also holds a support function which includes developing and streamlining SCN's procedures and tools related to fundraising and donor relations, as well as developing and providing internal training and support. The role will work closely with relevant colleagues internally in SCN and SCI.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Be the SCN focal point towards the NMFA.
• Lead and coordinate SCN's strategic engagement with the NMFA, working closely with our Humanitarian Director and Director of International Programmes, including developing and providing internal strategic advice for direction and steer.
• Provide analysis and advice on the relevant policies and priorities as well as best practice for fundraising.
• Lead key proposal and reporting processes (strategic partnership / framework agreements) and support other proposal processes when needed.
• Ensure systematic knowledge management, administration and follow up of existing agreements.
• Assist fundraising efforts including tracking and sharing information about new funding opportunities, undertake necessary research and background documentation.
• Provide advice on donor expectations and requirements throughout the project cycle.
• Facilitate internal sharing of information and learning.
• Strengthen internal staff capacity on fundraising, compliance, donor engagement, policies and priorities etc. and provide necessary ad hoc support.
• Establish and maintain close relations with key donor representatives as well as key SC representatives. Assist with the setting up and preparation for as well as participating in donor meetings.?
• Liaise with other organisations working with the NMFA.
• Contribute to policy and advocacy efforts targeting relevant NMFA.
• Support the overall deliverables of the Institutional Partnership Section as needed.?

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• We are seeking a self-driven, dynamic and structured person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.??
• You have a university degree (MA) or equivalent.??
• You have a minimum 5 years of experience from a humanitarian organization or humanitarian donor administration, either at HO or field level.?
• You have (in depth/excellent/sound) knowledge/understanding of international trends in humanitarian funding and donorship, including the Grand Bargain.
• You have documented results in fundraising, including developing donor strategies and plans as well as developing proposals and reports to government/institutional donors.?
• You possess in-depth knowledge of the NMFA, including strategic priorities for its humanitarian support, organizational setup and funding mechanisms.??
• You have good understanding of humanitarian action, principles and programming, preferably including at field level.
• You have strong planning and administrative skills, including strong understanding of financial reporting and budgeting.?
• You have high work capacity, you motivate others and enjoy working in teams.?
• You are Fluent in English, both written and verbal as well as a working level of Norwegian.
