Faculty of Health Sciences , Department of Physiotherapy OsloMet - Oslo Metropolitan University (former HiOA) is Norway's third largest university, with more than 20,000 students and over 2000 employees. We conduct research in areas that are important for welfare and value creation, for instance health, education, social sciences, technology and design. OsloMet has an academic stimulating environment with a variety of welfare schemes. The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff. There is a vacancy for the position of professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy, in the field of pediatric and adolescent physical therapy from 1 May 2019. The Department of Physiotherapy offers bachelor's and master's degree programmes in physiotherapy and a master's degree programme in rehabilitation and habilitation, as well as several further education programmes. Extensive research activity is conducted at the faculty, and there are a number of very active research groups at the department. The Faculty of Health Sciences has two PhD programmes, one in health sciences and one in behavioural analysis. OsloMet is the only educational institution that offers further education in pediatric and adolescent physical therapy, and a master's programme in physical therapy specialising in this field. The study programmes are under revision. The person appointed will be central to the continuation and further development of research activity and the study programmes in the field. We are looking for a physiotherapist with extensive experience of clinical work and research on children and adolescents, and who is familiar with the scope of the tasks and challenges in the field. It is important that you want to help us achieve the faculty's strategy of quality, robustness and relevance to society in the programmes and in practice-based research that can lead to innovation and improve the profession and patients'/users' health. We are also interested in developing needs-identified research. Main duties of the position: -participating in and leading research groups and research projects -developing and implementing courses and study programmes at master's level with a student-active profile -engaging in research activity that strengthens the lines of communication between R&D, education and the professional field -teaching and supervising students at all levels of education, including at bachelor's level -initiating application processes for funding for research projects and applying for external funding. Applicants must have: -authorisation as a physiotherapist and a relevant doctoral degree -broad experience of clinical work in pediatric and adolescent physical therapy -considerable experience of teaching and supervision at master's and PhD level -extensive research activity in the field -experience of managing large research and development projects -established national and international research networks -good oral and written English. We place emphasis on the person appointed being interested in cooperation and motivated to develop professional communities across traditional discipline boundaries, and being interested in new thinking and innovation in education. If you do not master Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, you must undertake to acquire such skills within three years. Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years. OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews. If no applicants who are qualified for appointment as a professor apply, an applicant may be appointed to a temporary position as a professor on the condition that he/she qualifies for a permanent position within three years. Desired academic profile It is an advantage if your clinical experience and research activity is linked to one or more of the following areas: -children's play, learning and development of movement -physical therapy for children with functional impairments and the practice of physical therapy in an interprofessional context -family-based approach -adolescent health and physical therapy in the school health service. Other information The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees: 1013 (professor) NOK 695,500-893,900 per year.
